In short
Probe collects no personal data and sends nothing anywhere. The app has no permission to access the internet.
In detail
No data collection. No personal data is collected, processed or shared with third parties. There is no account, no sign-in and no registration.
No internet access. The app does not request the permission android.permission.INTERNET and therefore cannot connect to the internet. There is no server of mine it could talk to: no backend, no accounts, no synchronisation. The daily puzzles ship inside the app.
No tracking, no ads, no analytics. No analytics, advertising or crash-reporting libraries are included.
Progress and settings. Solved puzzles, stars, the daily puzzles you played and your settings (sound, vibration) are stored only in the app's private storage on your device. They are excluded from Android's cloud backup, so they never leave the device. Uninstalling the app deletes them.
Gameplay log. While the game is being tested, it writes a gameplay log to its private storage on your device: which puzzle you played, the moves you made (for example which ray you fired and which cells you marked, including where you tapped), hints, solve times, the app version and the operating system name, together with a random session number that is not linked to you or your device. The log never leaves the device by itself. In test versions, the settings offer to copy, save or clear it, so that testers can choose to send it to me. If you do, I use it only to improve the game and delete it when it is no longer needed. Uninstalling the app deletes the log.
Permissions. The app requests a single permission: android.permission.VIBRATE, for haptic feedback. You can switch vibration off in the settings. No permission for location, contacts, camera, microphone, storage or phone.
Google Play. The app is distributed through Google Play. Google may process data when you download or update it, under Google's privacy policy. Google Play may also show me aggregated, anonymous statistics about installs, crashes and app performance; these do not identify you.
Purchases. This version contains no purchases. This policy will be updated before a version with purchases is released.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Articles 15 to 21 GDPR) and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. As the app itself stores no personal data with me, there is usually nothing I could provide information about, except a log you chose to send me.
Changes
This policy will be updated before a version is released that changes anything described here.
