Privacy Policy of the app Masinop
Last updated: 14 October 2026 (purchases, app lock, reminders and deleting all data added)
Sa madaling salita
Nasa phone mo lang ang listahan mo. Walang account, walang ads, walang tracking. Kumokonekta lang ang app sa Google Play kapag bumibili ka ng Pro; hindi lumalabas sa phone ang listahan mo. Wala kaming server na tumatanggap ng data mo.
In short
Masinop keeps your entries on your phone. It has no account, no ads and no tracking. The app only connects to Google Play when you buy or restore Pro; your money data never leaves the phone, and no server of mine receives it.
In detail
Your money data. Masinop stores your entries, the people you add, their utang and payments, and your settings in the app's private storage on your phone. The database file is encrypted with a key kept in your phone's secure hardware. There is no account system, no sign-in and no registration.
Internet only for Google Play purchases. The app has the internet permission because Google's Play Billing library, which handles the Pro purchase, needs it. The app itself sends nothing: no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting libraries are included, there is no usage counting, and your entries are never sent anywhere.
Google backup. If backup is turned on in your phone's settings and your phone has a screen lock, Android saves an end-to-end encrypted copy of the app's data, including the database key, in your own Google account, so that a new phone can get your list back. I cannot read this copy. If your phone has no screen lock, the app's data is not sent to Google backup.
Reminders and statements you share. Masinop never sends messages by itself. When you choose to share a reminder or a statement card, the app hands the text or picture to the app you pick (for example Messenger, Viber or SMS), and that app's own privacy policy applies. A saved statement picture goes to the place you choose on your phone.
Names of people. The names you type for people who owe you or whom you owe stay on your phone. The app does not read your contacts.
Permissions. Besides internet (for purchases only, see above), the app may use your fingerprint or face unlock if you turn on the app lock; Android checks it and the app only learns whether it matched. On Android 13 and later it asks to show notifications only when you turn on a reminder (payments due, the evening recap); reminders are scheduled and written on the phone. The app requests no permission for location, contacts, camera, microphone, SMS, storage or phone.
Google Play. The app is distributed through Google Play. Google may process data when you download or update it, under Google's privacy policy. Google Play may also show me aggregated, anonymous statistics about installs, crashes and app performance; these do not identify you.
Purchases. Masinop Pro is a one-time purchase through Google Play. Google processes the payment under its own privacy policy; I never see your payment details. The app receives a purchase confirmation from Google Play and keeps on your phone only whether Pro is active.
Record-keeping only. Masinop does not lend money, does not check credit and does not share anything with lenders.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Articles 15 to 21 GDPR) and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In the Philippines, the Data Privacy Act of 2012 gives you similar rights, and you can complain to the National Privacy Commission. As the app stores no personal data with me, there is usually nothing I could provide information about. To delete everything, use Settings, Delete all data in the app, or uninstall it; to remove the Google backup copy, manage backups in your Google account.
Changes
This policy will be updated before a version is released that changes anything described here.
